A New Breed of Business School
Moso hired us to take the information from the Unfinished Business School booklet and arrange it into an innovative interactive platform that further promoted the essence of the 6 week program.
We drew much of our inspiration from the descriptive titles for each week of the program – Essential Tension, Gamestorming, Ethnography for Everyone, Murderboarding, and so on. Right away, those words triggered illustrative visuals. Indeed, the program name itself – Unfinished Business School – conjured up images that symbolized a process in progress. In terms of the interactivity, we wanted to tie the information together fluidly. A single-page vertical scrolling layout made for a natural treatment that would enhance information that dealt with education and professional progression. We were eager to create a site that differentiated Moso’s program from others like it and promoted it’s innovative aspects. This site and the nature of what it is communicating lends itself to beautifully bold colors and playful vector illustrations as well as the parallax scrolling technique. We both agreed that the typical use of stock photography and a more conservative website structure didn’t quite communicate the level of innovation, creativity and layering of information that the UFBS program is all about.
The client fell in love with our idea and what was initially to be a simple 4 page site quickly ballooned into an 11 page Dr. Seuss-inspired concoction of interactivity, business and art. We enthusiastically took this in our stride. After all, freedom such as this with a project is rare and must be relished! Everyone involved was extremely happy with how the project came together. We would love more projects like these please!
