Room of Wonders

Jayme Stone is a Juno award-winning Canadian banjoist. He plays Banjo like you’ve never heard it before!

To coincide with the upcoming release of his latest album Room of Wonders, Jayme Stone wanted his website to reflect the same feelings of quirk and whimsy as the album’s artwork whilst at the same time providing an outlet for him to host his Skype lessons, sell his music online and keep his fans up to date with what he was doing.

Aurelia Lange’s pen and ink artwork for Room of Wonders has a lot of different overlapping linear textures, so as well as using elements of the original album artwork on the site we also incorporated some of our own hand drawn details into the website’s visual language to extend the layering effect.

Continuing the touch of hand in the typography, we felt the Google font IM Fell English SC had the appropriate qualities and we contrasted this rugged choice with a clean little Sans.

As well as adapting the visuals and style for the website, we also integrated an array of different features including a robust, seamless e-commerce music feature that allows fans to easily listen to samples and then purchase Jayme’s music without ever leaving the site.

Seriously though, check out Jayme’s ridiculous banjo skills!
